“When at first you don’t succeed, just sit down and eat cake . . . then try again.”
I feel like that quote totally describes this journey I’ve been on with this blog. It’s been two years of ups and downs, learning what to do and definitely what not to do. I’ve had some good posts, some really good posts and some really bad posts. My pictures have gotten better, my graphics have come leaps and bounds and my writing has changed over time and different with each post.
But it hasn’t all been good or easy. It’s been a real juggling act. Trying to figure out how to juggle passion and motherhood. Insecurities and being open and vulnerable to the entire world (even tho only few actually read what I have to say). What I enjoy writing about and what works for my brand and my audience. Whether I should write or work on graphics or social media or marketing.
Honestly, one of the biggest struggles I have with my blog is wanting it to be something great, wanting it to touch peoples lives like other blogs have touched mine. I struggle with comparing my beginning to someone else’s middle – my two years on someone else’s ten years. Blogging takes a lot of work. A lot of consistency and I am not the most consistent person if you haven’t noticed already.
When at first you don’t succeed…
But slowly and surely, I am figuring it out. Writing when I can, posting when I can, being consistent when I can. Motherhood is all about flexibility, consistency is definitely a necessary factor in parenting, but flexibility is key. I’ve learned to not give up. To not give up when something hasn’t quite gone according to plan, when there are million obstacles on the way and when everything is just simply pointless. The story doesn’t always make sense, but life doesn’t either.
So here is to another year of flexibility, my blog, my passion and hoping that one day my words will touch someones heart. Cheers! Oh, and to eat
another a few more pieces of cake.
