I made 16 goals in November to have finished by 2016.
Do you remember? If not, check it out here.
Now, lets get down to business – here is my recap of what I wanted to finish before this new year 🙂
My 16 goals before 2016:
#1 Blog Editorial Calendar
I would like to have my editorial calendar planned out for two months in advance and at least four posts written and scheduled at all times. I have always planned and hoped to have scheduled posts and I just started scheduling four at one time, I’d like to finish off the year and have January started – but with two posts a week instead of just one.
UPDATE: Ok, so I have it all planned. And obviously I never did much in December because I got slammed with Christmas orders in my shop which I wasn’t expecting but am super thankful for! The kids ended up getting sick this past week so I wasn’t able to get as much writing done as I had wanted – but here’s to at least getting it planned out 🙂
#2 Finish and Post Small Business Planner
I am so close to finishing it! So so close. I just need to sit down and f.i.n.i.s.h. it. Not quite sure why I am dragging my feet. But I gotta get it done and posted to my Etsy shop.
UPDATE: I did it!! I did it!! I did it!! I sat down and just did it and even better yet, I’ve already sold a couple. If you are looking for a small business planner that’s inexpensive and you can use year after year – check mine out here!
#3 Finish Your Best Year 2016
I am working on making a business plan for this coming year and really growing my Etsy shop. This book is an amazing productivity workbook and creative business planner and I am so excited to give it a try this coming year!
UPDATE: Oh my goodness! This book is wonderful, but it took me WAAAAAYYY longer to complete than I had expected. I worked on it every free second I got and FINALLY have my year planned out – here’s to a year of planning and organizing and executing and THRIVING!
#4 Finish setting up my office
I’d like to have it all unpacked, set up and organized for the new year. Its getting there and I was finally able to get some work done in there this week. But it’s still a mess and a little all over the place.
UPDATE: It’s a little more organized, and set up much better than before. But it could be better. Not quite sure how to make it better but I think it’s going to take some time of working in there to see what works and what doesn’t.
#5 Regularly work out
We have a membership to a health club now that has child care (whoop whoop!). So after two years of being out of shape, I
have to need to regularly work out and I don’t have any excuses any more – so here’s to starting now before the holidays.
UPDATE: HA! That’s all I got to say about that!
#6 Baby-proof the house
We got by without really baby proofing our last home, but now with two boys on the move and both extremely active we need to have this place completely baby proof. Plus it keeps our very curious toddler out of trouble.
UPDATE: We have gotten a lot more put away and baby proofed. Especially now with the Christmas tree down and put away, most things are baby-proofed. They still seem to get into their fair share of things tho :/
#7 Catch up on sewing
So after three weeks, I am finally starting to get back into the swing of things. I wasn’t planning on not sewing for this long, I was hoping to only take a week off. But … life threw a couple curve balls and I am just starting to get all my holiday items done. I have SO much to get sewn and posted and not much time. I’ll let you know how it goes…
UPDATE: I’m not sure I will ever be as caught up as I would like. But I did get all my Christmas orders out and sold a TON!
#8 Reach 200 sales at Buccio Baby Shop
I am less than 50 sales away from hitting that goal! Its a big goal, but I am gonna try!
UPDATE: SO between Etsy and custom orders I definitely reached my goal with flying colors!! SO excited and SO proud of myself!
#9 Get rid of ten more garbage bags of stuff
I just read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo – and let me tell you, it is life changing. I still have too much stuff, so I’d like to get rid of ten more garbage bags full of stuff.
UPDATE: Not only did I get rid of the 10, but I got rid of two more so I got rid of 12 more garbage bags full of stuff. Sadly I couldn’t even tell you what exactly I got rid of 🙁
#10 Purchase my Camera
I have been eyeing this camera all year (well since it came out) and I am hoping to purchase it by the end of the year.
UPDATE: I GOT IT!! I GOT IT!! Between all my Christmas sales and some birthday money I bought my camera! Here’s to a new year of better pictures! I’m in love already!
Get one! Hubby and I need to set up a monthly budget. We haven’t put one together before (at least together) so we really need to start planning out our money instead of being at it’s mercy.
UPDATE: We still haven’t done this. Honestly I’ve been too caught up with planning my blog and business to get this done. It’s on my list of things to do this week though.
#12 Find a church and mom’s group
I *think* I found one. But I am giving myself a couple more tries before I make a final decision. God is good and I feel his hand guiding me to places I would have never guessed. Thankful for his faithfulness and guidance!
UPDATE: FOUND ONE! God’s guidance with this has been amazing! So many connections already and I am so thankful. Now if my kids would just hurry up and get better so that we can get back to having a social life that’d be great!
#13 Find a babysitter
SO hard to do but SO necessary. Josiah and I need a date night badly. But I am so nervous about finding someone to watch our boys. We had the BEST babysitter back in PA, not sure anyone is gonna come close but I am sure gonna try and find her!
UPDATE: We found one and possibly another! She’s been an angel so far!
#14 Cook healthy meals
I’ve gotten really bad about doing this. We have been living by convenience recently, mostly because of the move but don’t want to continue. I’ve been better this past week, now just to keep it up.
UPDATE: Getting back to this. Haven’t been quite as good as I’d like but definitely getting better 🙂
#15 Try to set up a routine
I need to be better about my time and getting more done. My business can’t afford a baby sitter for a couple hours/days a week yet, so I’ve just got to be better about setting up a schedule for all of us. That means early mornings and the nap time hustle.
UPDATE: I have the routine mapped out and it’s flexible (because God knows, our schedule needs to be flexible). Monday was my start date…and then sick kids…
#16 Set my goals for 2016
Both monthly and for the year. I usually don’t like setting yearly goals but I need to for my business this year.
UPDATE: OH. MY. GOODNESS. guys! this took me almost three weeks from start to finish and I can NOT wait to share them with you! So many big and exciting goals going on here this year! Read why I like to make goals and not resolutions here.
