Finally starting back on my fitness journey.
I enjoy being fit, I enjoy being in shape and I enjoy working out. After we moved we got rid of our gym membership. With me being pregnant and hubby working a lot, neither of us used it much and therefore it wasn’t worth the money for time being. So once I started feeling better postpartum I began trying to figure out what I wanted to do to get back in shape.
I ran for a couple weeks while the weather was still cool in the mornings but then once it started getting warm my tolerance wore thin. I DO NOT like to run when it’s too warm, I DO NOT enjoy it.
I decided on the PiYo program because it is meant to be low impact and increase flexibility while using body weight to build strength.
Monday I started and today (Sunday) I finished my first week.
My joints and my abs were most sore this week. Particularly my wrists. I didn’t realize how weak I was. I healed so much quicker this time and was a lot more active during this pregnancy (hello chasing after a toddler) than I was during my first pregnancy, so I assumed I’d have a little more strength than I did. It was nice having sore abs tho, I just wish I noticed them tightening up (ha too much ben & jerry’s maybe). But I can see definition starting in my arms and legs.
I am proud of myself for sticking it out, even on the mornings the boys were up the same time I was. It is NOT easy to work out with a toddler. He plays so independently most of the time, until it’s time to do mama’s workout and then he is climbing all over me.
